This is a hotel where you stay in rooms that have been carved out of the limestone rock. It is in Basilicata, the southern part of Italy. I like the idea of being right in the rock / cave. These places used to be where the poorest of the poor (and Basilicata is a poor area anyway) lived. Now it has been turned into a nice hotel, to the amazement of the locals.
