Well, I don’t know if understanding German gets me any closer to speaking it but it sure feels like it should. I just returned from a week in Wedendorf where my close friend was married (she’s german). East Germany is absolutely beautiful and being surrounded by her friends and family made me want to accomplish this goal even more.

I didn’t understand the ceremony but I don’t feel I was missing a thing in converstaion, as long as I have context I am able to understand most things. I just wish I could give back more in German. Going to hit the ipod hard now!
