Ski season is just about over (though this does seem to be the winter that never ends… roommate just went cat skiing in fresh powder today), so this is going to have to wait until next winter. This all started when I saw high end race boots, brand new, for $45. Picked ‘em up, got some cheap skis that used to be rentals, took a short lesson, and headed out to the slopes. The first few times were terrifying, but I’ve started to get the hang of it and can get down bunny slopes without many issues. Turning left is easy but turning right feels strange, and I still can’t stop with my left ski in front. I know I’ll get the hang of it eventually…! It did take me a good two seasons to snowboard well.
