There are a lot of ways to recycle things. I still throw away a lot of things that could be recycled only because I’ve nowhere to recycle them. Living in a small community, far from any major metropolis where recycling is a daily occurance, I have no other options other than saving up the recyclables and then making a trip to the large city. Problems with that are, I have nowhere to store plastics and no way to get a boatload of plastics to the recycling center.
I save glass containers for storage purposes. I reuse styrofoam meat trays for paint pallets. I reused plastic containers whenever I can. All metals at my house are recycled! The junk man comes about every three months to bale the pile out back. That usually brings in a nice little chunk of change.
EVERYTHING could be recycled if one had the resources to do so.
Plastic is an evil that will never go away! Never go away in more ways than one! It stays in the landfill forever! And companies are not going to quit using it because it is cheap to produce!
I bought some smoked oysters the other day. Used to be smoked oysters came in a recyclable tin. These oysters were in a plastic pouch. They didn’t taste near as good as those that used to come from a tin. Same brand and all, just different packaging. I won’t b buying anything in a plastic pouch from here on out!
