Saito's
Saito’s is my favorite sushi spot on the 2nd St strip. Not as trendy as Wasabi Bistro, not as crowded as Shiro’s, I like its atmosphere the best, not to mention that the owner/chef is my namesake, or I’m his. Walking distance to my apartment doesn’t hurt either. It’s nearly always in a moderately crowded state, with at least one open table on either side of you, quite a pleasant change from a prior life in NYC. There is an asian eggplant appetizer that’s worth a try for the exquisite sauce, let alone the succulent eggplant. Also, the black cod and fried yellowtail cheeks are great cooked entrees.
