for about 6 weeks and I can’t imagine getting a TV. It would ruin the look of the awesome art and altar I have and I haven’t missed it at all. When I go to someone else’s house, it’s fun to catch a few shows, but in my own space, no thanks.
about disconnecting the satellite, but I can’t quite imagine not being able to watch a dvd once in a while…
We watch DVDs all the time- just on the computer. The absence of a tv makes it so we only watch when we actually want to watch a specific movie- rather than just flipping on the tv to “see what’s on” (and then ending up wasting time watching something that’s not worth it!)
Exactly, people come over and comment on how nice my little place is, and then you can see the confusion cross their face as they realize that there’s no tv to be found. I wouldn’t have it any other way. My brother and his girlfriend just moved and my mom says that their 2- yearold has a huge tv in her room… And that fact alone sums up the difference between my brother and I.
We’ve been without TV for several years now. We do watch the occasional DVD and even TV series—mostly from our library.
It’s odd—we’re watching a series right now and I’m finding it quite intrusive. I really prefer my non-TV watching life! I have time to do so many other things!
