go to spinning class (read all 2 entries…)
YES! 3 years ago

I took my 1st spinning class this past week in Ashville and MAN was it HARD. I loved it though!!!!! That’s the most aerobic excercise I’ve gotten in years! I used to cycle a lot when I was younger but I have gotten so out of shape.

It’s really great that it’s with a group of people; I’m very competitive so I forced myself to keep up with everyone (even though I seriously thought I was going to fall off the bike and die). Our instructor had excellent music too which also makes a huge difference. Pump it up!

WARNING-WEAR BICYCLE SHORTS. 2 pairs if you’re not used to riding. I had 1 pair on and I would’ve done anything for a second pair. I am STILL sore down there. And also have a towel handy because you drip buckets of sweat.

But, other than that enjoy! Lol!

I’m definitely going to start taking more classes.

Good for you!

I’ve been meaning to take a spinning class for some time now. Unfortunately the gym I go do does not offer one yet. I’m really looking for high aerobic exercises to burn fat and get slimmer. I’m also looking into squash which is supposed to make you sweat your balls (er ass if you’re a girl, lol) off.

I really think it would be a good compliment to all the weight trainning that I am doing. How long was the spinning class by the way? The thing I like about squash is that they say you can’t play for more than 30 or 40 mins because of how tired you get, and for me something that is that effective in that short a period of time would be great.

It really is great!

I think I’m addicted! I’m debating whether or not to take a 5:45pm-6:45pm class tonight… I am still sore but I did get another pair of cycling shorts so that might make it easier.

The spinning classes are usually an hour. My mom, who is in better shape than anyone I know (regardless of age) does 2 in a row. But she is CRAZY. I admire her but I was struggling not to fall off!

I’ve always been interested in squash too- let me know if you try it out!

Definitely try the spinning if you’re able to find a class.

You’d probably have an easier time with it since you don’t smoke the evil cigarettes!!!

PS. juliana.isabella@gmail.com send me an email!

go for it!

I hope you decided to go to the class. I know there are classes available in my area, but I already have a membership to a gym that does not offer a spinning class :-( (did I mention that already?)

Your mom is crazy for doing 2 classes back to back! I’m not sure that’s healthy. I hope she’s rehydrating properly.

If I get around to trying squash I will def let you know how it went.

As for the “evil cigarettes” I can’t make it to the NHL and be a smoker. I tried smoking years ago when I was younger, and it just never really stuck, so I guess I’m lucky. I will however have a cigar every now and then. Which makes most exercise easier on me that on smokers (do you smoke a lot?)

P.S. I sent you an e-mail, so hopefully I’ll be hearing from you soon!

alternatively

i get my clients (who dont want to wear shorts) to get a gel saddle,

http://www.cyclestore.co.uk/itemviewer.asp?ID=115&type=saddles

you can tget them from most cycle stores and ebay

they cover the whole saddle and make life alot easier if your not used to spin.

best class in the world…least the ones i teach are ;)

have fun

Thank you-

I completely forgot about those! My mom let me borrow a pair of her’s (regular bike shorts) and for last night I also borrowed a pair of my dad’s (worked out well becasue my dad’s were a little bigger and I could easily fit them over her’s). I don’t mind the shorts at all, although it was rather funny becasue it took me a good 20 minutes to get over the feeling that I was wearing a diaper, lol! I’m not as sore today as I was after my 1st class which I am SO relieved about. Are the gel shorts more cushioned?

Good for you for teaching; my mom wants to become a teacher, she’s obsessed with it, mainly during the winter. How did you go about becoming a teacher? How many classes a week do you teach?

Do you make your own music mixes or do you buy them? I have some Excellent music choices- there’s a teacher in Asheville who spends hours going over music for his classes and he has some great stuff. For me it’s the music that makes all the difference.

My dad was saying I should start back up road biking with him- but since it Is the music that really gets me going I don’t think I’d be as motivated and it would Not be safe to wear headphones (even just in 1 ear) while on the road)!

Juliana has gotten 3 cheers on this entry.
