I actually made meal plans for this week, and shopped with a list. I am trying a 4-meal-a-day program that balances protein, carbs, and good fats to reduce sugar cravings and maintain energy. I am focusing on whole grains. I have drastically cut my Coca Cola habit (the fact that they’ve clearly changed their formula and it doesn’t taste as good is helping some). I am drinking seltzer with lime or some pomegranate juice mixed in when I feel the need for a soda. Most everything I got at the store is organic/natural, with no additives. Greek yogurt, organic chicken, hummus, vegetables, local eggs, etc. I can’t wait to eat it all.
My favorite discovery of late are organic frozen burritos (evol burritos are my favorite, but Amy’s “Samosa Burrito” is fantastic too. I got a new one called JJ [or PJ? I can’t remember] today. We’ll see how it is). They only take 2-3 minutes to microwave, are delicious, and filling. I tend to have them for breakfast (I’ve always preferred a savory breakfast to a sweet one – bean and cheese burritos work just fine).
