I think I am the most love obsessed person on 43things. I may be wrong. Anyway. You can and will find it. And its not going to come from the places your looking. The cliche opposites attract isn’t entirely inaccurate. You may have everything in common with person, you may not. Theres a quote I am about to butcher, “You like someone for their qualities, but you love them for their faults.” I don’t know that I completely agree, but I do believe you will find yourself falling in love with someone who may possess some idiosyncracies that you had previously considered deal breakers. Love will make you say things you’ve never said. You’ll feel things you’ve never felt. Even if you think you have been in love before, when you find THIS kind of love, you’ll realize that everything previous was just preparation. I’m not saying “don’t look, it’ll find you.” I’m saying “Look, it’ll find you.” Its going to be because your looking for it, your search is going to put you in the right place at the right time to let your love surprise you and come from behind you and take hold of you where you least expect. THIS love is exactly what is described as. You won’t see it at first, but it’ll see you. Your love and yourself will probably come from different worlds. Thats why it will surpise you. You’ll be looking at and for people like you. But its going to be the person who is different, who stands out, who is nothing like what you thought you wanted… that person is going to take your breath away with a glance, and return it with a kiss. The work comes in maintaining the love to bridge the worlds between you. I promise you this, it will be well worth the effort.
