I’ve been rethinking my approach to this goal and feel that since I get easily overwhelmed by large projects, I need to break things down and clarify what I want as much as possible.
So, I have decided to update my previous list with the level to which I would like to learn them. Also, I am going to work on developing my own system of learning, as what I’ve tried hasn’t worked, so there’s no point in trying to bang my head against a brick wall.
I have split my list into four groups: Pre-GCSE, GCSE, A-Level and University. Just because I still think with the school mindset :) If I can actually get the qualification as well, then that would be great, but it’s more of a guideline really.
Pre-GCSE:
- Icelandic
- Tibetan
- Russian
- Indonesian
- Filipino
- Malay
GCSE:
- Portuguese
- Finnish
- Greek
- Turkish
- Farsi
- Swahili
A-Level:
- Spanish
- Dutch
- Swedish
- Arabic
- Chinese
- Japanese
- Korean
University:
- French
- German
- Italian
This list is flexible – I may decide I want to pursue a language to a higher level or stop at a lower level. I may add or remove languages. I tend to prefer organic growth rather than strict pathways, so I’m going to go with it instead of force myself into something that doesn’t fit me.
