Smoked a pack a day for four years. I got so sick of wasting my student loan money on cigarettes, placing smoking before groceries, dreading flights, waiting rooms, anywhere I couldn’t smoke for more than an hour. I remember in my early days of smoking (because four years was SO long ago, right?) I decided that at the very latest, I wouldn’t keep smoking past my 22nd birthday. I guess I figured that would be a good year to start acting more grown up or something. Anyway. Went cold turkey in the middle of a Sunday at work, haven’t had a single puff since.
Happy birthday, Dad.
