Oh dear. Do places and people like that really (still) exist?!

Disturbing. Anyway, the film was OK. It was (again) a classic that I thought I should see. We were discussing it at work earlier, and now my teamleader has an mp3 of duelling banjos as his ringtone.

What did I like about the movie…? Hmmm, I think it was how the characters developed, and showed their true colours under the pressure and stress of the situation they were in. I thought the director pulled it off well.

I also liked the camerawork on the river, I guess it would have been technically challenging, and I definately appreciate that.

hmmm, I’m not really feeling like writing much now… That’ll be it for today I think.

In the same part of the country as that movie was set? We don’t really have mountain folk here…

One of my favorites

From the movie site imdb.com:

“The movie was shot on the Chattooga River, dividing South Carolina and Georgia. The year following the release of the movie, 31 people drowned attempting to travel the stretch of river where the movie was shot.”

It’s a favorite movie (and book) of mine- I agree that it’s a great depiction of how people react and develop in a stressful situation that they have no experience with.

It’s also probably the best acting that Bert Reynolds has ever done, at least out of the movies that I’ve seen him in.
