Got my PADI Open Water Diver cert

in Thailand earlier this year. Had another three dives near Boracay in the Philippines. Planning a trip to the Maldives over Christmas holidays. I’ve seen enough coral, gotten bit by a trigger fish. Now I want to see something big – like a giant manta ray, a whale shark, a giant sea turtle, marlin or sailfish or the like.
There any truth to what the dive shops tell you – you gotta go deep to see the big fish? That means additional training for the deeper dives.
