I read that book a while back when I couldn’t even think of calling myself an “artist.” It really helped me start healing some wounds from my past that were holding me back from living a more fulfilled life.
One of the anologies she used that I still think about today is the idea of climbing a mountain. The mountain is so steep that you don’t go straight up, you encircle it, inching your way up as you go along. This means that often it appears that you’re in the same place you’d been before and makes you feel like you’re going in circles, but if you look harder you see that you’re a little higher than you were before.
This analogy always makes me feel me feel better when I think I’m getting older but not wiser.
I highly recommend. Good luck on your journey.
