I’ve been way too apathetic over the past few years. I basically accepted that there’s no hope for us as a species to undo the damage we’ve done.

But maybe there is hope. I’ve been watching the Occupy movements with some interest. I still don’t think that anything will change… but I’ve decided to make small changes of my own. I’ll start by moving my money into a credit union. Yes, I know it won’t do anything. Even if thousands of people do the same on November 5th, the banks won’t care. But it’s something I’ve been meaning to do for awhile now, so there’s no harm. I’d rather support the local credit unions than the big banks, and I’ll probably get better rates in the process.

So that’s change #1. I’ll continue to make small changes to my own life rather than resigning to hopelessness.
