beat depression (read all 9 entries…)
I've been wondering

If anyone has ever tried light therapy for depression? I’ve been considering getting a HappyLite for a long time but did not want to spend that much money unless I was sure I’d see any kind of results. I want to explore all my options as far as cures/remedies go.

Thank you for the link

and the suggestions. I notice I do feel a bit better when I step outside but am unable to spend as much time outdoors as I would like. The website is interesting and the studies prove that light, exercise, and vitamins can help. I’ve been doing this for a while now and have been seeing some improvement but I don’t feel 100% yet.

For dealing with depression...

You might find this article interesting:

As far as light, I personally just use a regular lamp with a dawn simulator… it really helps.

Ikea also sells a rectangular, $80 floor lamp that takes 4 light bulbs. If you get the LED lightbulbs that they also sell, you have the equivalent of a light box that’s also practical for your bedroom or living room. Plus, with the LED bulbs (get the brightest they have), you also get dimmable mood lighting. It’s great.

That is

a very interesting article. I try to incorporate most of these things in my daily life listed (with the exception of a few things) and it does seem to help when I can stay consistent with it. I’m trying to get better with sticking to it. That lamp idea from Ikea is an excellent idea! I will definitely look into that because that would look much better in my house than the light box. Thanks for the tips!

SWAZ is okay

Second Hand

I had a one friend that moved to northern England and she needed it for the first few years of the transition. It worked for her, don’t know if she still uses it anymore.

I would

probably be the same way as your friend once I accomplish my goal of moving to England. I’ve read several reviews on the HappyLight – most are positive ones so I may get it. Still open to other suggestions from anyone. :)
