We finished a 4-session “season” of Dogs in the Vineyard, and it’s been great. We’re going to continue with what will probably another 4-session arc to close out the game. But things have been really great! Certainly, they can only get better with more time and practice – but I’m definitely enjoying what I’m doing.

Way to go!
Nothing better than having a campaign that works.
...I’d love to hear more about the system. The link you put up really doesn’t answer any questions. Is there more information about it anywhere?
Click on the “Sources and Resources” link and you’ll find lots of stuff, includings posts of Actual Play. There’s various cool parts, but the resolution system in particular is this: you have a bunch of traits that are rated in dice, like “I have a rash temper: 2d6”, “My momma taught me to shoot straight, but never in anger: 1d10”. When you’re in a conflict, you can narrate in these traits (thus rolling their dice onto the table). Then on your turn, you push forward two dice along with the statement you want to make (like, “I slap him accross the face”, “I grab the book out of his hands”, “I give him a cold, furious gaze”), so that the dice back that up. The opponent has to “meet” – pushing dice to match up what you raised – and there’s more cool rules (Fallout) as a result of that, as well.
I also should mention that the setting is really interesting as a crucible for creating conflict in society, in part because its presenting some situtations and values that are difficult for my and my progressive friends. (I wanted to mention that since it seems like an odd premise at first.)
If you have any other questions, go ahead and post to the author’s forum, or feel free to email me (dev at forgreatjustice dot net).
