learn how to play backgammon
the perfect game, teetering on the line between chance and skill

Chess makes my head hurt. I have played it less than 10 times in my life. Every move splits off into a myriad of possibilities, and I find it very unsettling.

So Backgammon, the perfect game. The number of sensible moves is limited and easily calculated with practice, it’s linear (you move in one direction only), and you can still keep it together even while drunk. Yes, a perfect game.

Just enough chance to blame any defeat on luck, but not enough to discredit your victories.

Comments:

Not to mention the perfect metaphor for life. Its the sensible ways you take advantage of the sponataneous rolls of the dice that make a good game.

here here!

if only I could keep it together while drunk in life too. :P
