Print more digital pictures
My camera is great but...

I’ve only developed pictures ONCE since I bought my digital camera over 2 years ago! I use to develop pictures all the time with my regular camera. I think that is the only downfall for me of having my digital..I spend more time viewing them on my computer than in my photo albums.

Comments:

I have the same problem . . . good luck!

Thanks!

I’ve tried using my printer at home to print more pictures – so I can’t use the excuse of me being lazy and going to the store. :) But it’s still no where near the amount I’d have if I was using my older, non-digital camera.

That makes me SUPER lazy

I have the printer and the photo paper and have yet to print a single digital photo. Sad, really sad.

I hear ya...

i use to be so great with developing pictures and putting together creative photo albums. Now it seems I just forget about it and set it aside. I still take pictures like a mad woman, but that’s as far as it goes. I find that if I take a really great picture I go buy a frame and that gives me more incentive to print it.

I’m not big on framing pictures, but I thought buying new scrapbooking materials would be incintive. That hasn’t worked either. I don’t know what the big deal is but I just can’t seem to get the gusto to do it – weird.

Try re-thinking your old developing habits..

  • Do you copy all the photos from the digital camera and organize them into directories by different years/sets ?
  • Do you backup all your photos once in a while on DVDs/CDs ?

If you won’t follow both these rules you will either make a big mess of all the backups of your photos OR WORSE you might loose some of your precious photos FOREVER.

If you would start ‘handeling’ your digital photos, the proccess of selecting which photos to develop would get easier and all you’ll eventually need to do would be to occasionly burn some of the selected photos down on one CD.. that way when you’ll get to the store it would be done quickly..

The photo store I go to has special computer stations where the costumers can easily correct and send the photos desired directly to print.

Great advice

I usually copy all my photos from my digital onto my hard drive in folders according to theme (like “friends”, “family”, “Cat” and so on) I really need to be in a habit of burning more of these folders to disc. So far, I only have a bit saved onto disc and I know I will be burnt (no pun intended!) one day when my computer crashes. I know most of the photo stores here also have self-serving kiosks where you can pick and develop your own digital pics. I have never done it – maybe this weekend I should take your great advice and just do it!

Hey I just printed some pics - 120!

I finally printed some pictures – I still have about 1000 to print from this last year. But I chose 120 from my recent trip to Green Bay and some nature shots! They turned out pretty good. Don’s Photo in Winnipeg claims to print better quality than Costco but they are almost 10 cents more per pic regularly. But because I’ve bought cameras and lenses prior through them I printed these pics for 19 cents per.

So yeah – only 880 to go!

Good Job!

Haha..I just commented on your blog and then saw you wrote me here! The only time I took my digital pics to was Blacks. I wasn’t over impressed. I hear good things about Costco’s developing. I really need to start – I went to Vegas almost 2 years ago now and I have yet to put them in an album :(
