spelled either Aerogramme or Aerogram, it’s a lovely word for a wonderful type of old-fashioned letter…

I remember with fondness my parents welcoming the thin soft blue envelopes loaded with their precious cargo – words from back home.

We used those too

all through my growing-up years. Always writing as small & as neatly as possible, to use every inch well!

I remember reading in a book about “the old days” (US pioneer times?) about a woman covering both sides of a page in her letter and then turning the paper perpendicularly an and writing a full page that way too. Must have been a challenge to decipher!

Imagine paper being that precious.
