feistyredhead is getting organised for 2012
Since I was told an interesting parable by a friend, and then reading further around the subject of productivity, I have been pondering this goal and have decided that my approach to this was all wrong.
I’ve found a link which explains the concept in full detail for anyone who is interested. When I signed up for this goal, somehow I thought there was a way of completing the list of mundane jobs, and then having more time for the important stuff. However, time and advice from others has led me to realise there will always be more mundane tasks, and that the key is to focus on fitting in the important stuff, and the rest will somehow fit in around it, or if it doesn’t, then it probably isn’t worth doing.
For example, I have found that when I focus more on socialising, and inviting friends over, the house gets cleaned as a by-product, and in half the time it would usually take.
I do plan to be a bit more focused in 2012 about setting myself the odd half day of “life admin” time here and there, so the mundane stuff doesn’t completely go out of the window though!
