Nearly 10 months is WAY more than enough to prepare for 13.1 miles. I think I’ll start by just upping my activity level. I’ll continue to walk to and from work, but I’ll add back in regular exercise at home. And I WILL start yoga to loosen muscles and help prevent injury.
At the start of summer I’ll probably start walking for exercise on a regular basis again, preparing for the 10-mile race in August. Then I’ll continue walking longer distances a couple days each week until the big race in October. Very doable.
