If you want to break out of the YA genre

I can recommend an off-beat mystery. I recently finished The Coroner’s Lunch by Colin Cotterill. The setting is Laos in 1975, soon after the Pathet Lao deposed the royal head of state and set up a communist regime. The protagonist is a 72 yr old doctor who was “volunteered” to serve as the country’s only coroner. It’s a well-crafted yarn, with unlikely heros.

I'm having trouble

finding YA books that are capture my interest. Just put two down some fifty pages in. Will keep an eye out of Coroner’s Lunch.
