GQkudzu digs the pre-dawn stillness.
I haven’t prayed – I mean REALLY prayed – in a long time. Sure, I’ll mumble the church-y requests and thanks-for-the-grubs, but what I need is to kneel, both physically and spiritually.
I remember one such prayer. I was doing foresty work during the winter months at a faith-based camp (uninhabited that time of year, of course). There was a light snow on the ground. I stumbled upon their amphitheater and outdoor altar, and I knelt there in the snow, offering nothing but thank-yous.
