Dear 43 Things Users,

10 years after introducing 43 Things to the world, we have decided we have met our last goal: completing the incredible experience that has been 43 Things. Please join us in giving one last cheer to all the folks who have shared their goals with the world, as well as all the people who have worked at The Robot Co-op to build this incredible website. We won a Webby Award, published a book, and brought happiness to a lot of people.

Starting today, 43 Things users can export their goals and entries from the site. Starting August 15, we will make the site “read only”. 43 Things users will still be able to view the site and export their content, but we won’t be taking any new content from users. We hope to leave the site up for folks to see and download their content until the end of the year. Ending on New Year’s Eve takes us full circle.

It has been a long ride (one of our original goals was to "build a company that lasts at least 2 years” - we beat that one!) While we wish the site could live on, it has suffered from a number of challenges - changes in how people use the site, the advertising industry, and how search engines view the site. We wish the outcome was different – but we’ve always been realistic about when our goals are met and when they aren't.

As of today, you will be able to download your goals and entries. See more about that on the FAQ page. Thanks for 10 great years of goal-setting and achieving.

actually look like my eyes are open in pictures!
umm what?

yeah, so i have now realized…30 years into my life that i look like i’ve got my eyes closed in every freaking picture i take. umm hello? how do you fix that problem? i look like an idiot. ayudame!

ixyk logged in to 43 things for the first time in over a year!

Big eyes...

I used to have exactly the same problem. For some reason, my eyes are almost always closed -or half closed in photos.
My friend spent the afternoon trying to get a good photo of me for a publicity thing. After many failed attempts he told me to open my eyes extra wide as he snapped the photo. I thought I would look stupid, but it actually worked. My “big eyes” look normal in the pictures.
Good luck!

too funny

It was pretty sad when my friend took my picture the other night and immediately following said…”awe, you blinked”. yeah, i didn’t blink! maybe i will practice. Is that geeky? Oh well…i’m getting married this summer and all I can see are photos of a beautiful scene and me with my eyes closed! ha ha ha ha!

i can't believe

i’m going to admit this… but i don’t really care b/c you already know how i am anyway. So, i used to have this problem too but i haven’t had it since i started taking pictures of myself with my digital camera. just suck it up and take a buncha pictures of yourself. it’ll help the way you look in photos! i’m not kidding! practice makes perfect, i guess.

No shame in my game

I do this all the time !! I have mini photo sessions of my !

that's right!

it can be so much fun! at first i used my camera phone, but that wasn’t flattering enough for me. so then i started using a digital camera. i love it. i’m addicted. i do it every time before going out!!

kmslat has gotten 3 cheers on this entry.
