finding things other people left in books

I started reading a used book today. After 50 or so pages, I found a bookmark left by a previous reader. I’m used to using receipts or whatever scrap of paper is handy as a bookmark, but this person clearly took the time to label it as a bookmark and doodle little hearts and such on it. It made me happy to find it, and it also brought back memories of all the notes I’ve left in library books when I returned them.

Also satisfying – being able to spend a Sunday afternoon at home reading for fun!

Love doing this!

I love doing this. Also for a while I was buying used journals, where people had only added a few entries. My goal was to start there and make up the rest of their story. Managed to work on one that way for a few pages and considered donating it. Don’t know if anyone would get it though.
