Yay!

Got called to sub at the same studio again tonight. That will make three classes there this weekend (I already taught one this morning). This is a very exciting work opportunity for me. It’s exciting to see more opportunities opening up even as my costs go down.

Thanks!

Momentum is an interesting phenomenon. :)

Josh ...and life just rolls on like a river.

Yes...

...it is. :) It makes it easier to stay positive and that just rolls on into the next thing.

Odd you say that because I have been thinking about momentum the past few days… how we get into certain thought patterns and they attract one thing and that just increases the same thought pattern and it snowballs from there. I’m sure to a degree that our thinking just makes us notice certain things more but I also think it does attract things into our lives, as well.

Short sad story, I hit a cat with my car last night. :( It was dark and I was on an unlit rural road (driving the speed limit) and a cat just bolted out and ran into the side of the car. I immediately felt really bad… and less than a minute later I hit a pot hole… and less than a minute after that I had to dodge a rock in the road. I suddenly became very aware of my thought pattern and made a deliberate choice to remove myself from that vein of thought. The rest of the night things went smoothly. Maybe my thoughts were just compounding in a way that I noticed the bad things happening in succession, but it honestly felt like I had just dipped into a current that was taking me somewhere and I could feel it snowballing. It may be all in my head, but I choose to think that by removing myself from those thoughts the night got better in a tangible way that wasn’t just in my mind.

Sorry about the cat. :( That’s hard, even though you know it’s not your fault.

But yes, it’s a good illustration of what I mean. Momentum when on the surface it appears things are not connected, but in fact there’s an increasing force that gathers in one direction or another.

The thoughts are where we have control, to notice and let go. It’s really amazing.

Josh ...and life just rolls on like a river.

I really did feel badly about the cat getting hit. :(

I completely agree. Something I’ve realized is that the only things I have any control over are my thoughts and my actions (which includes my speech). The rest I have to accept (though the acceptance informs and empowers the two things I can control).
