I’d like to form a group of women friends that get together to cook and bake. We’d meet in summer and make fruit pies and preserves, in fall and make soups and stocks, in the holiday season and make cookies and cakes, meet anytime and make compound butters, tamales, ravioli, etc. Any foods that are easier to make in quantity and freeze easily. It makes me nostalgic for my great-grandmother (at least how I imagine she cooked with her friends).

This is a great idea! I wish I could join you, but I’m on the eastcoast. Good luck getting a group together… seems there are others from Seattle who have the same goal.
I LOVE this idea! Actually, I’ve started helping out with Food Not Bombs, where we prepare a huge dinner for the homeless every Sunday. So, that’s like a cooking party. Other than that, it would just be great to collaborate with people like that, and to drink wine while it’s happening.
When is the initial meeting?
Greetings..are you still interested in doing this? It sounds like a dream come true not to mention super fun. As Mama I also think about how great it would be to teach my daughters how to do those homemaking traditions like canning and such. It seems a great way to truly understand what is in season as well.
Your goal is an inspiration:) Thank you
