Argh

So I ordered some tea via Amazon.
Then I noticed it was not directly delivered by Amazon, but by some other company. Via a parcel service. Uh oh.
On wednesday I found a note on our door when I got home from work stating that I was not here at 9 am (really!) and that I can now indicate what should happen on this note.
I choose that the parcel should be delivered to my trusted neighbours.
Next day I get a call at 1 pm from the delivery guy telling me I was not home again (really!) and that he does not want to deliver the parcel to my neighbours (hu?). He suggested delivering it to my place of work – where I am not allowed to get personal mail or deliveries. So he suggested that the delivery guy calls me in the morning when he’s here and hand me my parcel.
Fine.
Today at 1 pm I remember my parcel or rather the absence of it. I call the delivery center.
It has been delivered. To my place of work.
I was rather angry and demanded to know how this could happen.
Turns out the drivers are not allowed to make such arrangements and it’s my fault for accepting this arrangement.
Now my parcel is a.) at my place of work where it should never be and b.) this is going to be troublem in one form or the other, because my place of work is rather big…
I was mad. Really really angry.

Somehow this is my fault, the delivery company stated. They didn’t even apologize.

Oh great.

And now

I’m angry at myself for getting mad.

I should have handled the situation better.
Calmer.

Oh my.

Life is hard ;)

There’s no need to beat yourself up, dear Sparrow!

If you do feel that you have extra energy, rather than beating yourself up with it, you might try writing to the firm’s headquarters (you could even use your 43T entry as a source of the timeline of events you put into your letter).

A written complaint addressed to the right person, that’s been put in firm, plain, & non-emotional words, is the most likely thing to get you an apology—if that’s what you want from the situation at this point.

Best wishes to you!

Thank you CCC!

I think I’ll let this rest for a few days and then I’ll now if I really want an apology.

If I feel like I feel now, I’ll let it slide.

But I’ll make sure to never again give out my company address to delivery services! I’d rather pick the parcel up at the distribution center and be over with it.

Thank you for your concern. I wish I could handle this situations more graceful and with more kindness – you are my big inspiration for this!
