La Femme Flâneuse (BeeQ)
@ 5:33 pm today. A beautiful, sunny spring day on the coast. Two friends joined me for my last few miles to reach 1000, and the last 2 miles we spent walking on the beach and or coastline paths. (What made finally meeting this even more sweet is that today is my birthday. I planned out/modified my walk schedule the last few weeks, and walked less on certain days so that I could walk my one thousandth mile on this particular day. I set a birthday goal for myself every year. Some years I meet them, some I don’t. I am very pleased to meet my birthday goal this year.)
It took me nine months. I started clocking my miles in mid June of 2011, when I bought a pedometer for a walk challenge at work. I averaged 111 miles per month, 27.75 miles per week. Some weeks I did more or less depending on a variety of factors from duration of work days, to social engagements, to non compliant weather, to just plain not wanting to or conversely, wanting to go farther on any given day.
Now, on to mile 1500! 2000!
