am signed up to help at the clothes drop at the half-marathon on Sunday! hoorah! it was the only job that was still available by the time i signed up, but i think it suits me: you need to be an anal type who takes great care in sorting things away in the right order but can also communicate in multiple languages. c’est moi!

when i heard “clothes drop” i initally thought of a long table, something like a jumble sale. and me plus a couple of grannies putting things in a pile. but no, the dimensions are incredible. there will be 32,000 participants, and 65 lorries for them to leave their stuff at while they run, manned by 200 volunteers. blimey.

oh, and i get free stuff! a t-shirt, breakfast-in-a-bag, and €10 expense allowance. can’t say no to that.
