Ohmygosh! I’m so happy. Not with the tattoo itself, it’s a simple design on the back of my neck, a treble and bass clef shaped as a heart, nothing big. I’m just happy with the step forward I’ve made.

Being an artist and having been interested in the tattoo world for some years, regularly attending tattoo festivals, hanging at parlours, apprenticing, etc it was about time I got some ink done on me. I had always been nervous because I have a needle anxiety and whilst I can watch other people get inked no problem, the thought of it being done on myself made me faint. I know, such a baby.

So I grit my teeth last night and went for it, imagining I would be a wuss and faint or cry or ask for the guy to stop every five seconds, but honestly it felt like I was getting a rough massage – I was falling asleep towards the end. Now I just need to focus on taking good care of it until it heals. Looking forward to future ink! :D
