Dear 43 Things Users,

10 years after introducing 43 Things to the world, we have decided we have met our last goal: completing the incredible experience that has been 43 Things. Please join us in giving one last cheer to all the folks who have shared their goals with the world, as well as all the people who have worked at The Robot Co-op to build this incredible website. We won a Webby Award, published a book, and brought happiness to a lot of people.

Starting today, 43 Things users can export their goals and entries from the site. Starting August 15, we will make the site “read only”. 43 Things users will still be able to view the site and export their content, but we won’t be taking any new content from users. We hope to leave the site up for folks to see and download their content until the end of the year. Ending on New Year’s Eve takes us full circle.

It has been a long ride (one of our original goals was to "build a company that lasts at least 2 years” - we beat that one!) While we wish the site could live on, it has suffered from a number of challenges - changes in how people use the site, the advertising industry, and how search engines view the site. We wish the outcome was different – but we’ve always been realistic about when our goals are met and when they aren't.

As of today, you will be able to download your goals and entries. See more about that on the FAQ page. Thanks for 10 great years of goal-setting and achieving.

Euphemia Whatever it takes

Record an album (read all 5 entries…)
So last night...

...I sang three songs at an open mic. I was a bit tired, but it has been a while since I had the occasion to sing in public. I honestly blew everyone away. I don’t mean to be arrogant, but I sang beautifully and I knew it. One guy said that it was the best thing in a long time and that I had broken his heart. Then three ladies came and asked me when they could see me in concert or if they could get an album. About time I started taking my singing seriously again…

Leezel is back from a 2-month hiatus!

Do you have a demo? I’d love to hear!

Euphemia Whatever it takes

Well that will teach me for bragging in public.
Here is a link to an old track – I hate the recording, but it is one of our songs that everyone seems to like.

And here is a cover:

Hoffy I guess they are not shutting down this site after all?

You have a really special and beautiful voice! Cool! Keep it up!

Euphemia Whatever it takes

Thank you!

That is very nice of you to say. I have not been singing lately because of work commitments but I have started recording again …sporadically! Such encouragement really gives me determination to find the time. Thank you so much :)

PasadenaSue Today, I will be honest and clear in all my communication.

debsilou, you love to sing!

So sing! Go after what you love and make your passion your reality. :) Is there anyway you can record more frequently? Or you can sing more with your current work schedule?

You know what you want. How do you make it so you can sing more often?

And, you are REALLY amazing! Thank you for the links to your recordings. I am impressed!!

And, this quote was on the page with your entries:

“Just don’t give up trying to do what you really want to do. Where there is love and inspiration, I don’t think you can go wrong.”
- Ella Fitzgerald

Euphemia Whatever it takes

Thank you Pasadena Sue, and Ella!

Thanks for your encouragement. I really have no excuses because we have a recording studio in our attic. The trouble has been that I spend so little time at home through travelling for work, that when I am at home I literally want to do nothing. And also work makes my schedule unpredictable so I renege on singing commitments. Or I sing and over analyse my voice asking questions like have I lost strength in my voice. I suppose like anything, you just have to get on and do it. Today is a free day for me. I was planning to clean the house, but perhaps I will spend some time up in that studio, or perhaps I will plan a gig schedule. Thanks an absolute million for your kind words of encouragement

Euphemia has gotten 5 cheers on this entry.
