Dear 43 Things Users,

10 years after introducing 43 Things to the world, we have decided we have met our last goal: completing the incredible experience that has been 43 Things. Please join us in giving one last cheer to all the folks who have shared their goals with the world, as well as all the people who have worked at The Robot Co-op to build this incredible website. We won a Webby Award, published a book, and brought happiness to a lot of people.

Starting today, 43 Things users can export their goals and entries from the site. Starting August 15, we will make the site “read only”. 43 Things users will still be able to view the site and export their content, but we won’t be taking any new content from users. We hope to leave the site up for folks to see and download their content until the end of the year. Ending on New Year’s Eve takes us full circle.

It has been a long ride (one of our original goals was to "build a company that lasts at least 2 years” - we beat that one!) While we wish the site could live on, it has suffered from a number of challenges - changes in how people use the site, the advertising industry, and how search engines view the site. We wish the outcome was different – but we’ve always been realistic about when our goals are met and when they aren't.

As of today, you will be able to download your goals and entries. See more about that on the FAQ page. Thanks for 10 great years of goal-setting and achieving.

Joyfully & Easily Take Control of My Health, Lose Body Fat For Good - End the Yoyoing (read all 105 entries…)

I’ve been on my period now for 9 days and it stinks. However, I remember far, far worse in my 20s and some of my 30s up until 5 yrs ago. Though I sorta have some PMSy stuff, it’s pretty good compared to what I’ve experienced for years.

So, I’ve had this cough now for I don’t know how long . . . 2 weeks? It’s awful and drains me.

Now I can add hurting my left knee. I did this Tuesday and rested Wed, icing and taking some Advils. Tomorrow I need to buy some Alleve. Got prayer yesterday and it seemed much better after prayer. It was much better. At least getting in/out of the car it no longer hurt.

However, Spartacus workouts are not exactly easy and easy on the body. They are grueling, probably like Insanity workouts. I’ve not seen or done those, so I don’t really know.

With being on my period and bleeding all this time, my joints feel really mushy and I don’t feel as strong, yet, I’ve continued to push. Today I attempted my workout and had to stop part way through Round 1. There are 3 rounds. I couldn’t keep going because I could feel how swollen my knee was.

So, I’ve taken more Advils, icing right now. I’m just going to try to figure out something to do, maybe just upper body and abs. Drat. I hate working upper body. I’m a leg woman.

I need to get recovered and well to be 100%. Drat!

Getting through this Beta Spartacus 2.0 program isn’t easy.

9 days is a ridiculous amount of time

have you had a well woman check up recently? If this is normal, I think you should have a check up.

The only time I ever had a bad time of it all was the few years I had an IUD. If I was on the pill, or after I had my tubes tied, there was never any of this miserable amount of days.

I have not had that done yet. The IUD that I have is at the end of it’s 5-yr life, so that is probably the reason. I used to have super short or super long periods that have lasted up to 2 weeks, and sometimes every other week for a few weeks. It was crazy.

The Mirena IUD has made life much, much better for me. There was little to no bleeding at all, which is so wonderful.

If I still have it by Monday, I’ll call the dr.

nicolasc has left the building. 43T and the friends I made will always be special to me.

lengthy and/or heavy periods can be due to either perimenopause, a non-hormonal iud, or fibroids.

I used to have extremely irregular, unpredictable cycles that also could have been the inspiration for any number of Steven King novels, if he’d only asked. Inherited from my mom. They finally normalized when I hit my 30s and now I think, “What the heck have all these women complaining about all these years? This is nuthin’!!!”

I agree with HC2, though, it’s a good idea to get it checked. Glad you’re calling the doctor.

edit: Also ask your doctor about iron supplements!

I’ve had a history of long, as well as super heavy periods. However, because I have the Mirena IUD, it’s made my periods almost non-existent. It’s at the end of life of the IUD, which is probably why I’m experiencing my periods again.

It was just so nice to not have them because mine were usually awful. My sister was blessed with super regularity and normal flow.

However, I did have cysts on my ovaries in my late teens, so that may have given me PCOS. My former self would probably tell myself now to quit whining because this is NUTHING (LOL) compared to what I used to go through.

I actually do take iron supplements. I was thinking of taking purified bile supplements, because if my body isn’t producing enough bile, it would make the supplements I’m taking not very effective.

Funny on the Stephen King novels. Well, not really, at least when you were going through it.

Living In God's Exquisite, Miraculous Sufficiency has gotten 11 cheers on this entry.
