Have you noticed that the Robot Co-op Blog has been completely revamped and/or shut down? (There’s a link to the old blog if you scroll down and check out the lower left corner of the page.)

Did you check the blog via the Zeitgeist page very much?

Any speculation as to what this might mean for changes for 43Things?

Yes, I check every now and again; especially when they ‘announced’ that they would be making subsciptions visible. That was supposed to happen in August, and never did. (not complaining!) I check to see what’s going on, but it’s been shut down for a long time, and is beyond how long they said that would be too. No idea what that means.

...oooh, I forgot about the aforementioned subscriptions “feature” to expose your subscribers. (Time flies!) Yep, August came and went without that being deployed thankfully.

In your treks into the blog, did you try the “Shop for Fun” link? It looks like the only way to enter is by getting an invitation via Facebook. Not that I really want to shop, but I’m a curious cat and like to poke around these things. I’m not doing Facebook, so there was no poking to be had. Hmmm.

Last time I checked – maybe a month ago – it had not changed.

Looking back at the old blog, the last entry, dated “Dec 5, 2011” says

Sorry we’ve been so quiet recently, we’re working on a new, top-secret website that we think many of you are going to enjoy.

One of the comments says that we will know what’s up in “April at the latest”. Well, now it’s April. It seems kind of ominous.

I think we may need Todd and his super squirrel secret spy skills to track down what’s going on…

Ah, I did not read the Robot’s last post from December carefully. I skimmed it, saw the topic of maintenance and skipped right over the introductory statement about the “top-secret website.” Oops.

And then an associated comment about April news—well, how timely! I ONLY skimmed the comments, too, so that was completely off my radar.

Oh, yes, New Isabella, this is a job for Todd. Yoo hoo, Todd: “This is a 43 – 911!”

A new top secret website?

What could this be?

I hope it’s not too good as it could mean that all the lovely people on here will do that more and 43T less, and then I’ll have to do both and I have enough trouble keeping up with this!

Perhaps the robots have spotted a gap in the market and invented a brand new type of social networking type thingy for people like us who don’t like Facebook…

Was this shop for fun link there before? Could this be the new mystery site? I got rather excited and I clicked on it. It gave me the option to request an invite. Eagerly, I clicked on the link. Yes, I will get sucked in. Who wants to join? Me! Me! Me!

And there, in front of my eyes the worst thing possible ‘Sign in via Facebook.’

I cannot sign in via Facebook! I do not want to sign in via Facebook! I DON’T DO FACEBOOK!!! Why must I always be penalised for making this choice!!!
