We just paid off our 1st credit card!
$2160
On Friday we ask them if they can give us an interest free period on a transfer of another card, or else we will just close the account :)
so happy!

why not just cancel it? Well done on getting rid of one card debt already! For me the less cards I have, the less risk of running them up. Now I just have one credit card that I use when there is no other option and pay as much as possible with a Visa debit card.
I wouldn’t cancel if you have had the card for a long time…it wipes out your credit history which isn’t a good thing.

So my situation is that my husband and I have 3 cards. 2 are paid off and one has 8.5K on it. When we paid the first card off they offered us a 6 month interest free period if we transfered the big one. So the idea is to see if the second paid off card will better that offer. Basically we can get the 8.5k on 0% interest rather than 14% – so we will pay it off faster and save more that way
