Yay! My Dearest got me a new bike seat for Mother’s Day and put it on this afternoon. He also pumped up the tires and oiled the chain.

He was going to get me a helmet for Mother’s Day, too, but sticker shock prevented him from doing it at the same time as the seat, and then he never had time to get back over there to pick one up. Just as well, because when I was cleaning today, I found my daughter’s old one and it fits me just fine!

I can start riding again first thing in the morning. I remember when my mom taught me how to ride a bike. I actually still have my first bike! I went headlong over the handlebars when a nutshell stopped the bike one day. ow. The one I ride now is a vintage one-speeder, bright red, with whitewall tires. It was a gift from my former principal. It now has an ergonomic hornless saddle seat and foam handlebar grips. I can sit up pretty straight on it, too. It’s SOOOO comfortable that “I want to ride my bicycle, I want to ride my bike!”
