Done!

This book was really well written and opened my mind up to the time period of the sixties, at the very beginning of the Civil Rights movement. As an Caucasian American of Irish descent living in this time of history, the audacity of the southern women of that time is striking and horrifying. Sadly, I’m sure much of that still goes on today. Reading the Help was both educational and a wake-up call, for though we have a black president at this time, we still have a long way to go in order to achieve not just racial equality in the United States, but gender equality, too.
