Dear 43 Things Users,

10 years after introducing 43 Things to the world, we have decided we have met our last goal: completing the incredible experience that has been 43 Things. Please join us in giving one last cheer to all the folks who have shared their goals with the world, as well as all the people who have worked at The Robot Co-op to build this incredible website. We won a Webby Award, published a book, and brought happiness to a lot of people.

Starting today, 43 Things users can export their goals and entries from the site. Starting August 15, we will make the site “read only”. 43 Things users will still be able to view the site and export their content, but we won’t be taking any new content from users. We hope to leave the site up for folks to see and download their content until the end of the year. Ending on New Year’s Eve takes us full circle.

It has been a long ride (one of our original goals was to "build a company that lasts at least 2 years” - we beat that one!) While we wish the site could live on, it has suffered from a number of challenges - changes in how people use the site, the advertising industry, and how search engines view the site. We wish the outcome was different – but we’ve always been realistic about when our goals are met and when they aren't.

As of today, you will be able to download your goals and entries. See more about that on the FAQ page. Thanks for 10 great years of goal-setting and achieving.

Learn to cook

So me an my 10 year old daughter are watching the tv show masterchef Australia and enjoying it. I seperated from her Italian mother 3 years ago and havent had a decent meal since lol. My daughter has chosen to take cooking classes this summer after school is out. We love good food and like cooking together, we just arent good at it. So my goal is to learn to cook with my little sweetheart and let her be the teacher.

midev Dont judge each dy by the harvest you reap, but by the seeds you plant

Sounds like a great idea!

Go ahead and learn together and surprise yourself….

Dessert recipe

You may want to try this one with your daughter. Children usually like this.
1 pack of filo pastry (the thick double layer ones)
3 cups of fresh cream
3 table spoons of flour
sprinkle of salt
1/4 cup of milk
2 table spoons of butter
spread butter on an oven tray
sprinkle butter with milk
sprinkle with a bit of flour
spread one of the layers over the mixture in the oven tray
spread pastry layer with butter
spread pastry layer with milk
in a separate bowl, mix fresh cream with flour and salt while stirring contineouslyand quickly until it forms a moderately thick texture.
Pour the cream mixture over the pastry layer in the middle and cover with the unused layer.
spread the second layer with butter and milk, make sure you close all openings around well and coat any dry edges with butter and milk.
put in oven for about 30-45 minutes all until colour is golden brown.
during this time prepare the syrup by boiling 2 cups of water with 2 table spoons of sugar and keep stirring until sauce is a bit thick but before sugar burns and turns brown.
Pour hot syrup ove hot dessert and leave for a while to cool down and enjoy. :)

Thank you sarass !!!
