I am now picking out small sections of the Pickaxe manual, and reading them again. Esp. the standard library, and the selection of extraneous modules are good reads.

Also, I want to come to grips with flip-flop hop-scotching.

Using Booleans + Range

I thought only perl, sed and awk had that. A /very/ useful feature for parsing.

I’ve found the pickaxe an incredible book – extremely well written, easy to follow and without all that extraneous fluff that you often get in technical books.
