manage my time better (read all 9 entries…)
I have a lot of it atm!

I currently work part time, 16 hours (usually) a week, over 3 days. I really want to stop wasting my days off. I’m looking for full time work, but while I have all this spare time, I want to make the most of it. I can easily sit down in front of the TV or computer thinking “I’ll just have an hour” and end up spending a whole afternoon doing… well, nothing. I’m determined to utilise my free time better. I’m going to start making little lists each morning of tasks for that day, and sticking to them. I hope this will help me stop procrastinating so much too. I have a day off with no plans tomorrow, and there’s a few small things I want to achieve, so as from tomorrow morning, I will manage my time more effectively!

Comments:

I think that your idea to make a list is great! I started using that technique and really struggled with it at the beginning because my lists are always far more ambitious than either a) the time i have in the day to actually spend working on them or b) my ability to complete them all fully. I learned over time how to make the lists reasonable and manageable. So, my advice is to give that a try, but to keep in mind that your lists will evolve and develop over time in order to set you up for success :) Don’t be discouraged if you can’t get everything done the first day you make a daily to-do list!

Thanks for your suggestion and encouragement – I have been slacking today but seeing your comment has made me realise I’m wasting the day when there’s stuff to be done! I’ll definitely try to keep my lists realistic!
