Mzchey is relaxing
I got an amazing opportunity through my school’s chapter of Financier’s Without Borders to work abroad in South Korea as a volunteer consultant during winter break. It all happened so quickly as I was praying for a sign that I should go into strategic consulting. Within one month of the interview I was on a 14 hour flight to Korea, solo. Talk about scary but exciting! I spent my first night alone in Seoul and then traveled to Daegu where we’d be working. We were a team of four undergrad students from my school and we worked to help a small entrepreneurial biopesticide firm figure out how they could enter their products in the American markets by researching the industry and providing them with a business plan. It was an amazing experience from start to finish and it reignited my love for traveling as well as made me want to volunteer in other countries. Hopefully, Africa will be next! It also helped me to realize that my idea of moving into strategic consulting is indeed a good one!
