I’ve never been any good at training. It’s a bit like revising; it’s just not something I’ve ever managed to maintain. I can do bits and pieces, now and then, but keeping going for a while I struggle with. Maybe it’s because I have an obsessive personality (so my wife tells me) and so I get really into it for a couple of weeks, and then can’t be bothered after that. But for whatever reason, I’m not great.
However, all that said, a few weeks ago I wrote an eighteen week training plan, leading up to my target of running the Bristol Half Marathon in September. So far, three weeks in, I’ve successfully completed eight of my exercise sessions and missed seven. So I’m doing better than 0.50! Just. My target over the next three weeks is to get up over 0.66 during that time. So, let’s just see how it goes!
