Vampiric Tendencies

Have you ever had that vampire obsession? Have you moved on from it?

or alternatively,

A werewolf obsession?

Any fetish/obsession whatsoever?

Comments:

Ha...

I had a vampire obsession right up until Twilight began hitting the fan-girl-obsession-stage. That sort of killed it for me. Vampires don’t sparkle…just saying.

I’m not bashing Twilight here either. I’ve read the books. If anyone cares for my 2 cents: they’re a good fluff read. I laughed when I read them. They’re not great literature, but that’s okay. Not obsession worthy in my view either way…

Werewolves…no obsessions but I did take an interest in them a long while back. I find them an interesting mythical creature anyway.

I wrote a story about a vampire uprising once. I liked it, to my surprise. None of my vampires sparkled though. I’m sure my main characters would be offended for even suggesting it. ^.~

I hear there’s a Vampire-themed expansion to Skyrim coming out soon, just saying ;p … Yeah, I know, as if you could make Skyrim any more absurdly big (patch 1.6 is out apparently, as soon as I’m back home I’m playing it to death !)

Dreamer7787 - The hoper of far-flung hopes, and the dreamer of improbable dreams.

Vampires.

My obsession with vampires started back in middle school before it was cool. I got teased all the time for reading vampire books. Then Twilight came out and all the girls who thought I was weird were gaga over it. I’m with PP, vampires do not sparkle. I still have yet to actually read Twilight (I’ve seen the movies. They’re amusing.). I probably will eventually just because I’m a librarian (in training…) and reading things is what I do.

I own all of Buffy and re-watch it often. I’m also slightly obsessed with The Vampire Diaries (the TV show, didn’t care for the books). FI and I also watch True Blood. I could go on, but I digress. ;)

Never really cared for werewolves.

Not at all

I never got the whole vampire craze. Or werewolves, or most other obsessions that seems to go around.

Vampires and Werewolves

I wasn’t really a huge fan of the Vampire craze. I’ve just now started reading the Ann Rice Vampire series I found at the library that were popular way back in the day and I just do not see what was so fantastic about them. I also don’t understand the twilight thing, or the Underworld movies. Vampires just don’t seem that interesting to me. They are beautiful, they get to live forever and they have super powers? Come on.
Not really obsessed with werewolves either.
I’m not against either of these things but they don’t really do anything for me.

What I always did really enjoy are zombies. I love the movies, the books the comics. I created a whole zombie magazine and tutorial on how to make a zombie DIY shirt for Halloween. I’m getting really annoyed though because with the Walking Dead television show getting popular I’m afraid it’s going to be another passing trend for people.

gottawonder Loves her tortoise!

I was pretty into

the Anne Rice stories. She put a lot of work into researching the era, the city, the people of that time, and so on. There was a lot of interesting story surrounding the characters, and the characters themselves were much more filled in than most vampire novels.

I found the “Twilight” books to be a little scary, not because of the vampires, but the extremely unhealthy relationship between Bella and her beau.

I wasn’t necessarily obsessed by any and all vampires, mostly the Anne Rice novels, and I though I often read books with some supernatural characters, I wasn’t specifically into werewolves.

Vampires and Werewolves

I’ve been reading those Laura K. Hamilton books for awhile. Before that, it was the Frank Langella version of Dracula which was hip for it’s day long before the Winona Ryder movie which has far more special effects. I;ve seen every episode of Buffy and Angel broadcast. I use o watch just about anything that had a vampire or werewolf in it but the Underworld movies burned me out. The twilight books/movies were a little different and fresh but now I over them and really don’t care right now if I ever see Breaking Dawn.
If you make your way into a Barne & Noble and ask about any vampire series, you’ll probably find at least a dozen different contemporary writers each with at least 4 or 5 books out on the shelves with more to come. Most will be teen or young adult fiction even though us oldster are reading them as well.

I deeply Apologize Your Floofiness....but..............

Finals are distracting me from completing my temple of monstrous proportions, but there is still that little fac about being able to post a picture, being camera-less & phone-less.

I just saw this in the news and thought of you :

(rough translated from French) :

National Museum of History, Sofia (Bulgaria) : seven hundred year old skeleton unearthed, the man was stabbed through the chest, his teeth taken out, apparently because people were afraid he might turn into a vampire.

vampires and werewolves

I’ve always loved a good vampire book or movie. Still do, although the big vampire fad brought on by those fucking stupid Twilight books has tons of vampire slag getting produced right now. That’ll pass.

Werewolves – never much interested in them, although the main one in the Buffy series was okay, and I do like the BBC Being Human, or did like it.

No obsessions, though
