Funeral service

Yesterday was my grandmothers funeral.

It was very beautiful, with beautiful flowers and a wonderful service done by a swedish pastor. My brother arrived in time for the service and relatives and friends of my grandmother were there.

Afterwards, we had lunch with the family – a bit awkward, but it’s the custom around here.

My grandmother would have been proud of this celebration and I’m sure the speeches given by her colleagues – she was working in social services up to the age of 85 and received a medal for this – would have pleased her.

And afterwards I was so tired I fell asleep at 9pm.

Thank you again for the condolences and wishes and for thinking of me! It made me feel so much better and helped me a lot!

Funerals

very often tend to be the last chance of family reunions, sadly enough.
When my first class-mate dies last year, we decided to find other occasions for reunions and relaiozed that in May this year.
It would be good thing for families to do likewise, provided the cohesion is strong enough.
