In the better super markets, there are many free samples. This guy had tarako (cod roe) products. There were chunks of raw salmon mixed with cod roe, squid mixed with cod roe and mentaiko (spiced cod roe). We bought a big mentaiko (probably for tomorrow’s breakfast, since they’re taking me out for Thai food tonight, Dad’s Day).
