Would you ever sing Someone I use to know to a former friend?=:o)
Aloha50 I trust the universe!
I love that song!
Yes I would! :)
I adore that song.
I heard it a few months ago before it was popular and fell in love with it. (The original, not the crappy remix) Probably a mixture of the marimba and the 80s Sting-like voice he has.
It reminds me very much of someone in particular, and every time I hear it I think that it’s the two of us singing it to one another. If I knew anyone who still talked to him, I’d be curious to know if he thought the same thing when he heard it; but I’ll never know.
Is this the
Baa baa black sheep, have you any wool? song.
Do you have Baa baa black sheep in the States? If you don’t you’ll have no idea what I’m talking about. Then again, I reckon I’m running the risk of that already…!
We do have baa baa black sheep (lol you’re so funny!) But I don’t think we’re thinking of the same song as it sounds nothing like that to me :/
I’ll post a link later or you can youtube Gotye
That is the same song. That little tinkly instrumental bit that plays a few times in the song is the Baa baa black sheep bit. You can sing ‘Baa baa black sheep, have you any wool.’ It fits perfectly and it’s almost the same notes. Try it!
I see where you’re talking about, but I don’t get that from it at all :/ (I can make myself say it to that, but it would never be a connection I would make lol)
BeautifulDay I wasn't older yet, I wasn't wise I guess
I think that would be awkward for the both of us.
gottawonder Loves her tortoise!
I might play it for him.
It was someone I dated for about 2 and a half years.
When he broke up with me, he just quit speaking to me, period. I felt like I didn’t see it coming. I thought we were happy, and had plans for the future, and I guess he was just going along with it until he graduated from university and was ready to move on.
He wouldn’t return my calls, nothing. A couple of weeks later he passed me on the street, and wouldn’t even look at me. Like I was a stranger, and hadn’t been sleeping with him for over two years.
That’s how I felt. I was just someone he used to know.
Actually, I have, lol. Jokingly while on a drive with a friend. We laughed.
Katie clueless and, without a doubt, happy
That song drives me insane.
I really enjoy that song and know some people in my life it would be applicable to.
I’m not a good singer and i couldn’t think of anyone to sing it with.
mrcreed memento mori
never heard of it...
and im not much of a singer anyway..and if someone becomes a former friend they get nothing from me but lots of distance and/or ignored so yeah…no
A Staggering Rat of Heartbreaking Something or Other "Oor Ratty. Your Ratty. A'body's Ratty."
Let's just say
that there are times when one is let down and Kimbra’s part makes fearsome karaoke.
(So does Modest Mouse’s Black Cadillacs. No one would ever guess. A sly, tropical smile spreads across her face.)
Bedhead2 June bloom hula hooping!
I listened to ‘This is the last day of our acquaintance’ in my car with someone that I was ending a fling with. He got the point :)
Listen to it here for full dramatic effect here
Dead7and_Dreaming has a CAST! (and no, I didn't break anything!),
Because….I don’t need an explanation, just NOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Yesterday when I was out, I heard a bit of ‘Somebody that I used to know’ playing, and it was funny timing because that was the day a so-called friend had text me saying he wanted me to leave him alone. We fell out and made up few times before (he fickle like that), but it was still kind of fitting because he was basically being immature, I hadn’t done anything for him to be mad at me – but whatever.
Didn’t this time, but what I maybe would do is listen to the song fully and maybe sing it to myself, but probably not sing it to them.
