Dear 43 Things Users,

10 years after introducing 43 Things to the world, we have decided we have met our last goal: completing the incredible experience that has been 43 Things. Please join us in giving one last cheer to all the folks who have shared their goals with the world, as well as all the people who have worked at The Robot Co-op to build this incredible website. We won a Webby Award, published a book, and brought happiness to a lot of people.

Starting today, 43 Things users can export their goals and entries from the site. Starting August 15, we will make the site “read only”. 43 Things users will still be able to view the site and export their content, but we won’t be taking any new content from users. We hope to leave the site up for folks to see and download their content until the end of the year. Ending on New Year’s Eve takes us full circle.

It has been a long ride (one of our original goals was to "build a company that lasts at least 2 years” - we beat that one!) While we wish the site could live on, it has suffered from a number of challenges - changes in how people use the site, the advertising industry, and how search engines view the site. We wish the outcome was different – but we’ve always been realistic about when our goals are met and when they aren't.

As of today, you will be able to download your goals and entries. See more about that on the FAQ page. Thanks for 10 great years of goal-setting and achieving.

Get Jin4 to send the UK some sun from Brasil (read all 2 entries…)
2 months of constant rain!

It’s been about 2 months where we seriously have had rain every day (apart from 4 days) and more days than not it’s been solid heavy rain.

It’s been unbelievably depressing for June.

Where’s all that sun Kinky4 promised us?

I’m working on it.

Too late. It’s pouring down again.

How are you? Glad to be back home again?

Rain's been pouring all day here too -_-

I’m doing so-so. Freedom is a what you’d call in French “un cadeau empoisonné” = “a poisonous gift” (literally) : I don’t have my grandparents or family around castrating me but I’m back to my chaotic, lazy, unhealthy ways.

First day back at work I was in a super good mood (made a couple of people there happy with a souvenir gift, and thanks to my vacation I felt pretty rested and less pressured, with more hindsight, got a couple of compliments about my healthier look -though I wasn’t too crazy about their phrasing). Today though I was working with this guy who’s very, very negative about everything so at the end of the day you end up quite depressed (that and the rain, hope it’s better in the UK now), besides an hour or so before closing, they noticed somebody climbing the tower, not sure if it was to die or what, anyway, when I left there were all these helpless rescuers downstairs and the man was apparently still somewhere between the 2nd floor and the summit and getting tired (as I mentioned it was raining all day so it was pretty much the worst day to attempt that kind of thing), I do hope he didn’t fall, that’s a long way down.

Shit, he did jump and it made the news :(

and the same happened this morning apparently (I wasn’t there) except this time they managed to rescue the climber.

At least

he was a man of conviction. I respect him for that.

wren You'll not see nothing like the mighty wren!

"a poisonous gift"

What an excellent term. I’m so glad I read this. Very sorry about the suicidal man, though.

красивейшая Богиня has gotten 6 cheers on this entry.
