Lithuanian is the official language of Lithuania. It is said to retain many features of Proto Indo-European now lost in other Indo-European languages. There are about 2.9 million speakers in the world – most of them in Lithuania but there is also an important Lithuanian diaspora.
There is no practical reason to learn Lithuanian apart from the pleasure I am getting in studying it. So far, I’m on my third lesson and can just about figure out how to say ‘The hairdresser goes to the factory by bike.’
This is my first entry on 43 things.

Comments:
German is also a very impractical language to learn
when you’re learning how to say, “The hairdresser goes to the factory by bike”
hehe :) I hope you continue to use 43T AND learn Lithuanian! Lithuania is on my “obscure countries I want to visit” list :)
