So hard to get somewhere so close
So I cannot take Amtrak or Greyhound to Alaska. It would take at least 2 days to drive there and 2 days back. Flying would be the easiest and quickest way but here is the kicker.
A flight from Portland to Fairbanks is $850-$900.
A flight from Portland to NORWAY….$998-$1109!!!
I know that consumer demand has a lot to do with the availability of flights to certian destinations but this still just blows me away that I can travel to Europe for about the same price to travel within my same timezone!
Ok, so Fairbanks is actually one hour difference but still.
